Lula May Bruce was the daughter of James Davana Bruce and his wife, Elizabeth Esther Smith. She was married to T. Griffin Waterfield in 1925 in what was then Princess Anne County, Virginia (now city of Virginia Beach).

Lula B. Waterfield, 86, died February 26, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Waterfield was the daughter of the late Davana and Elizabeth Smith Bruce of Creeds, Virginia Beach. She was the widow of T. Griffin Waterfield. She was a member of First Christian Church, Norfolk.
She is survived by a daughter, Ethel W. Nath of Norfolk; a sister, Amy B. Kight of Moyock, N.C.; two grandsons, Bruce R. Nath of Virginia Beach, Michael W. Nath of Paradise, Utah; and two great-grandchildren, Brian and Kelly Nath of Virginia Beach.
Remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, 1600 Colonial Ave., Norfolk. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church or a charity of choice. The family will be at 313 New Street, Norfolk, Va. 23503. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling arrangements. "
