Frank Mason Davis b: Sep 1864 per the 1900 census. His parents are unknown but in that same census both of his parents are listed as being born in New York. His middle name Mason is first identified in the death certificate of his daughter Fannie, where the informant was his granddaughter Dorothy.

He married Sallie Jeanette Greenlaw, daughter of William Bowden Greenlaw and Fannie Jenette Brown.

They had 3 children, William Bowden Davis, Fannie Brown Davis, and Sallie Jeanette Davis.

His death date and burial location are unknown but his wife first listed herself as a widow in 1918 in the Dallas City Directory, so it seems he died in 1917 or perhaps early 1918. He probably died in the Dallas, Texas area since he is repeatedly found there and that is where she is listed in the immediate years before and after her listing as a widow.

There are some trees that show him to be the child of William Thomas Davis and Sarah Elizabeth Cowling. When looking at 1870 and 1880 census records there is no indication of Frank Mason Davis being in that household. He would have been about 6 and 16 respectively in those censuses. There is a Jesse Frank Davis in those households. Jesse Frank Davis later has an established wife and child, and appears in 1900 and 1910 census records in Virginia. Other records clearly establish this Frank as Frank M. Davis so unless he changed his name, lived a double life, or was abandoned as a child, there is no support for this parental claim.
