Hoover C. Lemons was born on December 9, 1929, to Fred Lemons and Bettie Mae Jackson Lemons of Chandler, Texas. He passed away on September 13, 2021, at the age of 91.

Hoover C. attended school in Chandler. He received a track scholarship and attended Texas College for two years. He married Ella Lee Jones Lemons, and four beautiful children were born to their union.

Hoover then enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country. After 24 years of dedicated service, he honorably retired as Chief Warrant Officer. Following his military career, he accepted the call to the ministry and served as a Pastor for 28 years.

Among many hobbies, one of his greatest passions was planting gardens and growing greens, peas, cucumbers, and other vegetables. He also delighted in singing; he was a member of a quartet.

Hoover was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Lemons and Bettie Mae Jackson Lemons; son, Michael Lemons; and siblings - Freddie Mae Lemons, Cloteal Lemons Albert, Genell Lemons Cofer, Harlee Lemons, Alsaiah Lemons, and Donald Lemons. Those left to mourn his transition yet cherish precious memories include his wife of almost 69 years, Ella Jones Lemons; two daughters, Carol Lemons Graham (Clifford Graham) and Angela Lemons Mathews (Tony Mathews); son, Kevin Lemons; grandchildren who were his pride and joy - Clifford Graham III, Kelvin Graham, Michael Mathews, Ryann Nicole Mathews Hamilton (Mike Hamilton), and Morian Leigh Mathews; and great-grandchildren - Imani Graham, Alana Graham, Akiha Graham, Jalen Graham, and the newest little angel, Harmoni Hamilton. Additionally, he leaves his brother, John Lemons (Dorothy); sister, Beverly Lemons (Charles George); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pastor Hoover Carol Lemons was born on December 9, 1929, Chandler, Texas. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on September 13, 2021, in Richardson, Texas.
