ELLIS GRISSOM, a long-time resident of Carnegie, was town clerk here from May, 1953, until resigning in December, 1958. In January, 1959, he became Caddo county court clerk, resigning in 1963 to move to Marlow where he entered the nursing home business. He and his wife, the former Goldie Rogers of Carnegie, whom he married June 27, 1934, had built a new 69-patient nursing home in Marlow which they had moved into in May.
He was born March 20, 1910, in Ellis County and was a member of the Marlow First Methodist church, the Marlow Lions club, and a long-time member of the IOOF lodge.
He died October 6, in the Marlow hospital, and he is survived by his wife, Goldie Gertrude of the home; the son, Robert, Marlow; a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Whitley; and two grandchildren, Todd and Timmy Whitley of Norman; a sister, Mrs. Doris Rexroat of Carnegie; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Rogers, Carnegie; and other relatives.
