Louis Clifton Duvall, 87, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at a local nursing home.

Louie was born November 3, 1922, in Frederick County, VA, the son of the late, Roy P. and Mamie N. Duvall. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. He was a self employed carpenter and retired from Adams Packing in Auburndale, FL. He was a charter member of Winchester Church of God and had taught Sunday school and was choir director.

He married D. Marie Dyke on August 26, 1952 in Winchester, VA.

In addition to his wife, of 57 years, he is survived by; two sisters, Catherine Douglas Swimley of Winchester, and Betty Duvall Livengood of Berryville, VA; two brothers, John "Jack" W. Duvall and Robert W. Duvall both of Winchester, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, R. Jean Duvall, Margaret Duvall, Frances Fishpaw, and Dorothy Duvall and seven brothers, Ferman, Charles, Raginald, Donald, Weeden, Braxton and Richard Duvall.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Winchester Church of God in Winchester.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Winchester Church of God with Dr. Darrell W. Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Perry Duvall, Billy Swimley, Jerry Swimley, Dick Duvall, Tom Duvall, Don Duvall, Greg Duvall and Mark Duvall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Duvall and David Duvall.
