Irene Richey, 91, a longtime Michigantown and Frankfort resident, died on September 8, 2021 at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, OH. She was born on May 17, 1930 in Clinton County, IN to Edd and Mabel M. (Laughner) Ridenour. She married William P. "Babe" Richey on June 13, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2007.

Irene attended school in Beard and graduated from Michigantown High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and she and Babe owned/operated Davis Fence Co. in Michigantown. Irene was known by many as the queen of "Frogtown". She was a longtime member of Michigantown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, golf, bocce ball and bowling and loved playing video poker and traveling with her daughter and son-in-law in their motor home.

Surviving are two children; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers - Reldo, Garland and Harley Ridenour; two sisters, Audrey Meadors and Maxine Sproal; one great-granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
