Raymond Joseph Archibald, 84, of Coventry RI, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Louella (Caruso) Archibald, who was at his side. They had been married for 52 years.

He had resided in Coventry for more than 4 decades.

Born and raised in Norwich, CT, he was the son of the late Raymond and Helen Estelle (Tanguay) Archibald.

Mr. Archibald was a former Special Education Director for the Johnston Public Schools. He retired in 1996. He was a proud alumnus of Norwich Free Academy, University of Connecticut, Northeastern University and Boston College.

He served as a medic with the US Navy at Chelsea Naval Hospital.

Ray was a doting grandfather, an audiophile and a sports car enthusiast.

In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by his sons, Christopher and his wife Henriette of Camarillo, CA, and David of Coventry, RI; grandchildren, Katharine and Eric and siblings, John Archibald and his wife Ann of Norwich, CT, and Teresa (Archibald) Donahoe of Rocky Hill, CT. He was the brother of the late Martha (Archibald) Delucia and the late Edward Archibald.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
