Glorianne Muggli passed away in her home in Tooele, Utah on August 31, 2021, due to a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 70. Upon her request, she will be buried next to her mother in the Eureka, Utah cemetery. Her service will be held at 12 pm MST on September 11, 2021, at 1025 W Utah Ave. Tooele, UT 84074. A closed casket viewing will be held prior, beginning at 10 am MST.
Glorianne was born on Friday, July 13th, 1951, in Long Beach, California to Irwin Rudger and Merrie Lucilla Stout Adams. She was the oldest of 12 children, five of which preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Edmund Muggli and son, Mikhail Thomas Muggli. She is survived by her 3 daughters Liesl Ann Bergmann, Gelsey Marie Jones, and Rosalie Gay York. She was also promoted to the position of grandmother 9 times. Glorianne moved over 30 times growing up and attended several schools including Dixie High School where she graduated and Dixie College in St. George, Utah. She continued her education later in life in her 40's at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon and got her master's degree in graphic design at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. Glorianne met her husband and lifelong partner in Los Angeles California in January of 1974. Cletus and Glorianne got engaged after 2 weeks of dating. He was a new convert to the LDS church so they waited 11 months to get married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on December 6th, 1974. They settled down on a 10-acre plot of land just outside of Estacada, Oregon. They had their first child and only son, Mikhail, born December 17, 1978, who passed shortly after birth. They had three daughters, Liesl, born 1980, Gelsey, born 1985, and Rosalie, born 1987.
Glorianne loved gardening on her property and cared for a large flower garden for many years. Clete took care of the vegetable garden and orchard. They raised chickens, ducks, turkeys, had cats, dogs and a horse. Glorianne was passionate about equestrianism and would take every
opportunity to ride even though she was allergic to horses. It was the only sport she ever followed. She watched the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes every year without fail. She was also fond of ballet, hence the names Mikhail and Gelsey who were named after famous ballet dancers. She didn't participate herself but encouraged her daughters to. She also home-schooled her girls while still having time to sew them clothes and costumes for many occasions and holidays. She even made time to feed her passion for crafting and art by painting, sculpting, creating portraits with colored pencils, and crocheting like nobody's
business.
Clete and Glorianne started a family business in 1993 called Muggli Graphics where they authored, illustrated, printed, collated and shipped books worldwide. They created primary activity books that supported the LDS church's curriculum and children's music and expanded to other age groups and classes. Glorianne had been called to her church's primary as a
president, chorister, teacher or counselor many times over the years. She accumulated over 40 years serving in the primary of many wards. Clete often served alongside her as the pianist in primary when she was the chorister. They made a great team in many aspects of life. Clete was diagnosed in 1995 with cancer. In preparation for his passing Glorianne went back to school to get her master's degree to better support her 3 girls in the future. They sold the property and moved into Estacada city limits 3 years after his diagnosis. After their youngest daughter graduated high school in 2005 they downsized and moved into a condo in Newburg, Oregon. She was widowed in October of 2008 and moved into her middle daughter's home with her son-in-law and only grandchild at the time. She soon moved to Utah and intended to stay there in the sunshine for the rest of her days, which she did. As much as she loved her friends in Estacada and raising her family there, she missed the sunshine of Utah and longed to be closer to her siblings. There, she lived with her youngest daughter and son-in-law and their children for 8 years before getting her own apartment in Tooele, Utah. It was the first time she had lived on her own since college and her "hermit heart" was thrilled to have her own space.
Few knew that she suffered from depression most of her life and the lack of sunshine didn't help. But she never let it keep her from being a memorable and positive influence on everyone in her life. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandma, sister, friend, artist, and teacher. She even became the honorary neighborhood grandma to all of her grandbabies' friends in Tooele. She loved her family deeply, her church passionately, and her country fiercely. She is loved and missed. She is home.
