Through the years Ethel was active in various clubs and organizations. She enjoyed doing home crafts such as sewing, knitting, and crocheting, much of which she gave away as gifts or donated for fund raisers. Working with the RSVP Program she and her friends at the Senior Center made stuffed Teddy Bears for the police and firefighters to give out to children in crisis.
She enjoyed the lunch dates with her lady friends and appreciated all they did for her.
Ethel loved her family get-togethers which included her children, siblings, nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. At least once or twice year large family gatherings were held.
Ethel is survived by her children, Marilyn Pank (John), Dennis Bartholomew, Janice Santsi (Tony), Russell Bartholomew (Kristine), and daughter-in-law, Rose Bartholomew (Ronald); thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; eleven siblings, Amelia Hatcher, Alice Mattson, Juanita Martin, Dorothy Bales, Helen Henning, Pearl Sittman, Florence Schacht, James Jr., George, John, and Gerald Tutor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Bartholomew; son, Ronald Bartholomew; parents; granddaughter, Rebecca (Yunk) Bitner; and daughter-in-law, Kristine Bartholomew (Dennis).
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Peace Lutheran Church, 9523 US-2, Poplar, WI, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Pastors Donna Rutten and Joel Heunamann officiating. As per the church's request, masks are required.
Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Tripp, WI.
