Michael Wayne Clay, 64, of North Sioux City passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Martha Anderson of The Church of All Nations officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.

Michael Wayne Clay was born July 11, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Everett and Irene (Girard) Clay.

Mr. Clay graduated from Sioux City Central High School and then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from Aug. 1, 1966, until Dec. 10, 1970. Mr. Clay was employed with Mallory Electric in North Sioux City as an electrician for 33 years and was a member of the IBEW Local 231

Michael married Nancy Hall on April 20, 1974, in South Sioux City. Into this marriage, three daughters were born.

In his free time Michael loved to read, play cards and golf and had a collection of coins, stamps and swords. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Clay is survived by three daughters, Melisa Hoesing and her husband Chris of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Erica Clay and Wendy Clay, both of Sioux City; one stepdaughter, Kandice Ray of Schwertz, Texas; five brothers, Rodney, Dennis, Everett, Mark and John; four sisters, Charlene, Linda, Patty and Mary; four grandchildren, Austin, Jasmine, Ian and Jarrette; significant other, Dorothy Strickland; several nieces and nephews; and special dog, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Steve Schultz.
