Mr. Derry was born in Astoria, son of John and Fern Derry. He married Helen Luttrell in 1945.
He was a retired auto parts salesman, a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church, Stephen Decatur Lodge 979, AF&AM, and Scottish Rite Bodies, Springfield, and a World War II army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, a son, a daughter, a brother, four half brothers, seven half sisters and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday in United Methodist Church, Forsyth. Visitation was after 4 p.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Friday in the church, with an 8 p.m. Masonic rites Thursday in the funeral home. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
