Jeannine Mae Morgan was born December 16, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, to Waldo Smith of Rexburg, Idaho and Viola Smith of Trenton, New Jersey. She's the beloved sister to the late Sandy Smith and Carol Johnson. She married her eternal companion, Jason Morgan, on December 29, 1965, in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jason and Jeannine lovingly raised six children: Jeffrey (Bridget) Morgan, Jinger (Raymond) Stephenson, Joel (Melissa) Morgan, Jill (Paul) Cryder, Jandi Morgan, Jad Morgan, and foster-daughter, Lynn (Mark) Devey. Grandma Jeannine Morgan was the heart and soul of her 36 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Growing up in El Monte, California, Jeannine attended Arroyo High School and participated in a cappella choir. After high school, she attended and graduated from beauty college and worked with her mother and sister at their family owned beauty shop, Lady's Day Salon. After marrying her sweetheart, she mastered the roles of mother, wife, and homemaker. Even during the hard times, Jeannine made any struggle seem like a joyous adventure.
