Mary Irene (Daniels) Peterson, 91, of Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing, formerly of Jamestown and Frewsburg, died Friday April 7, 2017 at Heritage Village.
She was born June 30, 1925 in Erie, PA, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle Schrader Daniels.
Mary spent all her life in the Jamestown area.
She was married to Arthur Peterson for sixty-three years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mary faithfully attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Jamestown, where she had many friends. Prior to that she had attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Frewsburg.
Before retiring in 1986, she had worked as a secretary for Heritage Village and prior to that for the former Watson Manufacturing Co.
She is survived by a son, Gerald "Gary" (Dawn) Peterson of Kennedy; her four Peterson grandchildren whom she was a wonderful grandmother to: Brian (Michelle) of Panama, Mark (Joy) of Kennedy, Timothy (Gretchen) of Kennett Square, PA, and Scott (Darcy) of Kennedy; her eight Peterson great- grandchildren: Emma, Ellie, Michael, Rebekah, Nora, Cole, Andrew and Austin, whom she loved spending time with. She is also survived by a sister: Irma, of Sinclairville; a brother: Maurice of Jamestown and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her mother, Myrtle Daniels and step-father Edward Daniels she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Peterson whom she married January 31, 1942 and who died Sept. 8, 2005, a son Sherwood, a daughter Shirley, and four brothers: Earl, Elmer, Gordon, and Donald Daniels.
Since her husband's death, she had the privilege of having a special family of very close and caring friends. Her family is very grateful for the excellent assistance and care she was given at Berquist Assisted Living Home and Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Frewsburg. Rev. Wayne Eppehimer and Rev. Sam Shreffler will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
