Edward Dean Caylor, 90, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on July 7, 1931 to Hershel and Lena Caylor in Roger Mills County at the home of his grandparents and died August 31, 2021, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.

After graduating from Canute High School in May of 1950, he married Ginnie Lee Young also of Canute. They continued to live in Washita County where they maintained the family farm while they both worked for Armour & Company of Elk City, OK. Dean and Ginnie were blessed with four daughters; Karen Kay Mincher, Connie Lee Young, Dana Ladean Smith, and Melinda Gay Looney. Around 1961, he began working for the Mead Bread Co and after a couple years he went to work for Oklahoma Drug Company. He worked for them for 25 years where he received the Salesman of the Year multiple times. After retiring he returned to the farm raising cattle and crops. Throughout his adult life he was a charter member of the Elk City Jaycees where is favorite project that he helped found was the Little Britches Rode Association. He also served as a member of the Elk City Round-Up Club. He was also a lifetime member of the 2nd and Adams Church of Christ in Elk City, OK. In his retirement, he enjoyed following his grandchildren and great grandchildren around the state watching them play football, baseball, softball, and many other activities they were involved in as they grew up.

Dean is survived by his wife, Ginnie, of the Elk City home; his daughters, Karen and her husband Allen Mincher of Elk City, Ladean Smith and her husband Ron Smith also of Elk City; Seven grandchildren, Dwight Mincher and his wife Cyndi of College Station, TX, Dana Tarrant and her husband Jeremy of Sulfur Springs, TX, DeLena McLemore and her husband Jed of Elk City, OK, Sara Smith of Elk City, OK, Ashley Bladen and her husband Stuart of Baton Rouge, LA, Nate Smith and his wife Mercedes of Elk City, OK, and Cody Looney of Baton Rouge, LA. 10 great grandchildren, Austen Mincher and fiance Taylor of Temple, TX, Jaxson Dean Mincher of College Station, TX, Jayden and Jorden Tarrant of Sulfur Springs, TX, Lacy, Lucy, and Caylor McLemore of Elk City, OK, Baxter and Lulu Mindy Rose (coming September 2021) Bladen of Baton Rouge, LA, and Riah Lee and Jasper Wayne Smith of Elk City, OK.

Also surviving him; One sister, Oleta Faye Loyd of Ada, OK; One brother-in-law, Finis Stafford and his wife Dorothy of Waddell, AZ; Two sisters-in-law, Virginia Parks of Ponca City, OK and Charlotte Ronne and her husband George of Hillsborro, MO. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Lena Caylor, two daughters, Connie Lee Caylor in 1954 and Melinda Caylor Looney in May of 2021, sister-in-law, Loretta Stafford of Phoenix, AZ, brother-in-law, Captain Eular M. Young, US Army, grandparents, aunt's and uncle's also preceded him in death
