Rosary Slated Tonight For Harry Gaugh

Recitation of the Rosary for Harry E. Gaugh
76, of 675 Emerald Ave, El Cajon, a veteran
amateur radio operator who died Saturday
in a hospital, will be at 8 o'clock tonight
in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church.
Gaugh, a native of Dallas, Tex., was a
retired Convair electrician who served 26
years in the Coast Guard, with duty in both
World Wars. He had been an amateur radio
since 1909. He and a friend were believed
to have built the first crystal radio set in
San Diego.
Operator of Ham radio station K6AJ, licensed
in 1913, Gaugh was a member of the Quarter
Century Wireless Association, the West Coast
Amateur Radio Service, American Radio Relay
League, DX Century Club, the Old Timers Club
and Sable Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his widow, Virginia; five daughters,
a son, Harry E. Jr., of El cajon; 23 grandchildren,
and a great-grandchild.
Requiem Mass will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow in
Holy Trinity Church. Internment will be in
Holy Cross Cemetery.
