EMMA TURNER ALBERDING
Emma, daughter of Ezra and Emma J. Turner, was born in New York on July 29, 1879, and passed away at Harvard on March 24, 1958, at the age of 78 years.
When a small girl she came with her parents to Nebraska where they had purchased a farm south of Harvard, and most of her life was spent in this home.
She was married to Will Alberding on May 5, 1904, and they purchased the family farm where they made their home until the death of Mr. Alberding on April 2, 1940. After that she spent several years with her sisters and brothers in Boston and California when she returned to Harvard and lived with her nephew, Milton Turner until his death in 1948, and since then has continued to make her home in Harvard. Due to failing health she has spent the past two years at the Rest Haven Home where she passed away March 24.
Mrs. Alberding had been a member of the Christian church in Clay Center for many years, but transferred her membership to the Harvard church and had been active in the work of the Sunday school and Woman's Fellowship until failing health forced her to give up her service.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elsie Stone of Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers, Fred and Wallace Turner of Pasadena, Calif.; several nephews and nieces and a large circle of friends.
Services were held from the Harvard Christian Church on Thursday, March 27, 1958, with Rev. E. A. Katterhenry officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Melba Schwenk and Mrs. Marjorie Hohnstein accompanied by Mrs. Frances Brenneman.
Pallbearers were Fred Schulte, Ira Fishback, Ed Aspegren, Ed Genschmer, Everett England, John Brenneman.
Burial was in the Clay Center cemetery.
