Civil War Soldier. Dibble served in Company G, 14th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry and was mortally wounded at Gettysburg, Pa. on July 3, 1863 dying two days later in a field hospital. He was temporarily buried on the field and then relocated to the Gettysburg National Cemetery. In time his family returned his remains to Westbrook and he was reinterred in the family plot.
