Dixie Darlene Sheen, 86 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on August 26, 2021, at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. Dixie was born on February 16, 1935, at Rockville, Nebraska, the third of five children born to Claire and Vera (Anderson) Asher. She attended Ravenna Public Schools in Ravenna, Nebraska.

Following her education, Dixie began working as a Nurse Aid for Christian Homes Care Community and later Bethpage Mission in Axtell, Nebraska.

Dixie was united in marriage in Donald R. Sheen in Kearney, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Kearney and were blessed with four children: Gayle, Danny, Scott, and Debra. The family later made their home in Wilcox.

Dixie was a member of the United Methodist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and friends; reading; going on walks; and ceramics.

Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Don; grandson, Domonick Linden; one sister, Marlin Swab; one brother, Claire "Sonny" Asher and wife, Dorene; and a brother-in-law, Ed Evans.

Dixie is survived by her four children: Gayle Sheen and his wife, Becky of Wilcox, Nebraska; Danny Sheen and his significant other, Nancy Lebeau of Holdrege; Scott Sheen of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Deb Linden of Holdrege; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, along with two on the way; one sister: Cathy Evans of Loveland, Colorado; one brother, Gayle Asher and his wife, Mary of Doniphan, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
