She passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Opal was of the Regular Baptist Faith and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Ray Holbrooks, sons; James and Jerry and a daughter; Susan and brothers and sisters. Survivors are sons; Ronnie Holbrooks of Pikeville, KY, Eddie (Deidra) Holbrooks of Sevierville, TN., Malcolm (Debbie Jo) Holbrooks of Lookout, KY, Julian Holbrooks of Rockhouse, KY, Grover C. Holbrooks of Lookout, KY and John Holbrooks of Rockhouse, KY; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 7:00 PM -8:30 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 01, 2021, at 11:00 AM from the chapel with Delon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Holbrooks- Hylton Family Cemetery at Rockhouse, Ky.
