Service for Joseph A. Haines, 83, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Riverside Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Haines died Thursday, near Elk, in a head-on collision. He was born in Trail, Oklahoma.

He lived in Spokane for more than 50 years and was a truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

His wife, Betty Haines, died in 1965. He is survived by two sons, Daniel Haines of Mariposa, California, and Michael Haines of Spokane; one daughter, Colleen Hackett of Spokane; one brother, Mark Haines of Seattle; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
