Ronnie was born in Marion, Indiana to Clyde and Nellie (Hewitt) Shepperd, and they preceded him in death. He married Ruth Moore on June 13, 1953, and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. He was owner of Happy and Son Garage in Gas City, and was associated with the business from the age of 9, until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Gas City Fire Department for 27 years and served as the assistant chief. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #645 F & AM for over 50 years, the American Legion Post #95 of Jonesboro, and the VFW Post #6728 of Gas City. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and listening to country music. He loved his grandkids.
