"Isabelle Moore, 94, Covington, died Feb. 16, 1996 in Covington Manor Health Care. She was born Sept. 8, 1901 at Newtown, the daughter of Elmore and Daisy Duncan Arter.

She graduated from Covington High School in 1919. She was a resident of Covington most of her life and formerly lived in Stone Bluff and Newtown. She was a waitress for many years, having been employed at Sprague's, Sweet's, Grab-It-Here, Burrin Pharmacy and Club Cigar Store. She was a member of Newtown Community Church. She enjoyed fishing and bingo.

Surviving are a daughter, Judith A. (John) Woodrow, Covington; a son-in-law, James Hale, Jr., Crescent City, Fla.; two granddaughters, Debby (Dana L.) Jeffries, Covington and Donna (David) Sobottka, Waxachachie, Texas; three grandsons, Dan (Nancy) Woodrow, LaPorte, James L. (Linda) Hale, Indianapolis and Gary (Donna) Hale, Lafayette; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joan Jones and Geraldine Hale; her parents; a sister, Zella Coleman; a brother, Duncan Arter and a great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. Allen Phillips officiating. Burial was in Osborn Prairie Cemetery, Veedersburg." – Fountain County Neighbor, February 20, 1996
