She was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Leo and Juanita Aldred. She graduated from Whitehall Yearling and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in 2007 to live on Anna Maria Island, her dream since her first visit in 1980.
For years, she walked nearly the entire island six days a week — and made many friends along the way. She loved relaxing on the beach or at her condo-community pool.
She also loved baking and could live in her kitchen preparing many delicious desserts for her family and friends. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She always greeted people with a smile and maintained a positive outlook that was infectious to others.
She is survived by son Michael; grandsons Brandon and Nicholas and wife Melissa; great grandsons Aiden and Mason; and best friend of nearly 50 years, "MC" Mary Carol.
