Funeral services for Mrs. Kenneth Smith, the former Julia (Jule) Rosa Boagni, 89, will be held a 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of the Epiphany in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith died at 8:11 p.m. Saturday [12 May 1990] in Doctors' Hospital in Opelousas. She attended the Sacred Heart Academy in Grand Coteau, Ward Belmont Academy in Tennessee and Newcomb College in New Orleans. Mrs. Smith was a beauty and sales representative for Charles of the Ritz cosmetic company for several years, traveling throughout the United States. For forty years, she was co-owner and operator of the House of Flowers and Interiors with her husband and nephew. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany and its Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Louisiana State Florist Association.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth P. Smith of Opelousas; daughter, Mrs. J. M. (Marjorie) Gaustad of Hampton, Va.; two sons, A. E. (Mannie) Veltin and Kingsley Velton [sic], both of Opelousas; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
