John Peter McKenna, 59, of Afton, Tennessee, died Friday morning at Takoma Regional Hospital.
He was self-employed as a landscaper and in advertising.
"Mr. McKenna was a good Christian man who was loved by all who met him.
"He was an oudoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing," his family noted.
He is survived by his wife; his children and their spouses; 12 grandchildren; 10 brothers; four sisters; several nieces and nephews; and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
The funeral service was held in the Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Samuel Church officiating.
Interment followed in Mosheim Central Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers included the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice.
