Eleanor Foyston passed away peacefully on the evening of December 4, 2011. She was born June 28, 1923 in the town of Sekiu, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula.
At an early age, the family moved to Forks where Eleanor went to school and graduated from Forks High School in 1941. Many long lasting friendships were developed during those school years and school reunions were a special time for her. Later she attended Western Washington University in Bellingham.
After college graduation, Eleanor volunteered to go to Japan and teach English after the end of World War II. From there, she traveled through Asia and Europe before coming home eventually settling in Seattle.
She met Stanley Foyston and they married on June 17, 1955. They settled in West Seattle and together they raised their two children. Eleanor retired from Gull Industries and as a retirement present, the company presented her with a set of golf clubs. That set of clubs led her to many wonderful Thursday morning rounds of golf at Jefferson Golf Course. Golf along with afternoon Bridge games and all the friendships involved were very special to her in the retirement years.
Travel was a favorite pastime that she and Stanley shared throughout their years together. Eleanor was the daughter of Norwegion immigrants and she along with her sisters journeyed to Norway to meet their relatives. Family and friends are what Eleanor's life was all about.
She will always be remembered as a caring and loving person by those who had the pleasure to know her.

She was preceded in death by parents Mina and Mattias, brother Art and sisters Minnie and Edna.
She is survived by her husband Stanley and children James and Lisa.
