Henry Newton Wiles, 74, died Friday April 4, [1947] in Okemah, [Oklahoma] where he had been receiving clinic treatment and had been staying with a brother, L. S. Wiles. He had been ill since last December.

A retired farmer, Mr. Wiles came to Eufaula, [Oklahoma] four years ago from Okfuskee County, [Oklahoma]. Previously he had farmed in Sequoyah and Creek Counties, coming to Oklahoma from his native state of Arkansas.

Until he became ill, Mr. Wiles was an active member of the Eufaula Assembly of God Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent.

Survivors are his wife; three sons: O'Neil Wiles, San Diego, [California], Henry H. Wiles, Long Beach, [California], and Jack Wiles, Eufaula; six daughters: Mrs. T. T. Gardner and Mrs. A. E. Shockley, Houston, [Texas], Mrs. Dave O'Neal, Stilwell, [Oklahoma], Mrs. Herbert Standridge, Tulsa, [Oklahoma], Mrs. Woodrow Faulkner, Holtville, Calif., and Mrs. Talmadge Sowder, Eufaula; a step-son, Troy Richardson, Eufaula; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Ned Hogner; and other relatives including brother, Cal Wiles, Hot Springs, N. M., who was here for the funeral.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Assembly of God Church with the pastor, Rev. N. H. Mott and the Rev. Mr. Arnold, McAlester, [Oklahoma] officiating. Burial was in the Eufaula Cemetery under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.
