Charles R. Lyons:
Charles Roy Lyons, 18 Ross St., a retired contractor and florist and life resident here, died at 5:40 a.m. today at his home after a long illness. He was 81.
Rev. Clifford Proper will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Eldon V. Mohney Funeral Home here. Burial will be in West Liberty Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Lyons was born Jan. 24, 1887 in West Liberty, son of William H. and Clara Kiel Lyons. He married Lela Dunlap. She survives. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, Mr. Lyons leaves six daughters, Mrs. Betty Wingert, Luthersburg: Mrs. Marie Kopshina, Falls Creek; Miss Ethel Lyons, DuBois; Mrs. Geraldine Logan, York; Mrs. Pearl Peck, Clinton Md.; and Mrs. Clara Olmstead, Jamestown, NY; four sons, James and Ronald, DuBois; Earl, Reynoldsville; and Leonard, Keystone Heights, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Brown, Niagra Falls, NY; a brother, Sylvester, Desert, Cal.; 24 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A sister, Mabel London, and a brother, Floyd, preceded him in death.
