MARTIN, MARGUERITE ELIZABETH BASS, 90, passed from this life on August 25,2021 in Montgomery, Alabama, after a brief illness. She was born in Covington County, Alabama on January 9, 1931 but called Montgomery home for over 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stacy B and Alline R Bass, and eight of her nine siblings. She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Bill) Hopper, Danna (Doug) Williams, her son, Danny (Tamara) Martin; seven grandchildren, Adam (Melanie) Hopper, Lindsay (Lance) Pierce, Danae (Blake) Qualls, Drew (Amy) Williams, Elizabeth Martin, Whitney Taylor, Meredith Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, Daniel and Patrick Hopper, Park, Kullen and Palmer Pierce, Zoey Qualls and Clark Taylor. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Bass Wood, and a whole host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Her favorite pastime was fishing and spending time at her place on Lake Martin, as well as sewing and keeping up with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a charter member of the former Normandale Baptist Church, now Lakeview Baptist Church, Montgomery. She was one of the owners of Chisholm Drugs, and worked at Baptist Tower Pharmacy, both in Montgomery, Alabama. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to current and former neighbors in her Montgomery neighborhood who have meant so much to her over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make a memorial contribution to your favorite church or charitable organization.

Graveside service at Shady Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 11334 Hog Foot Road, Andalusia, Alabama on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10:30am, with the Rev Mike McVay officiating. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Due to COVID, visitation will occur at the Church, immediately after the graveside. The family request that you honor social distancing protocols.
