Richard Allen "Dickie" Brooks, Sr., 65, of Sugartown, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

In his younger years "Dickie" worked in the oilfield and ran equipment. In 1990 he went to work for the City of DeRidder and retired from there after 25 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. "Dickie" was a hardworking man, that was very skilled in many trades and always made time to help others. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, running equipment, working cows and pushing his Kubota tractor to the limit. He really enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is cherished by his family and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty years, Connie Brooks of Sugartown, LA; son, Richard Brooks, Jr. and Kathy of Ragley, LA; daughters, Tosha Calcote and Shon of DeRidder, LA, Kassie Felder and LeRoy of Sugartown, LA; mother, Irene Perkins of Rosepine, LA; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Brooks and Melissa of Pennsylvania, Donald Brooks of Tennessee, Arvis Brooks and Patty of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Doris Carver and Lane of Tennessee, Diane Midkiff & Paul of DeRidder, LA grandchildren, John Moon, Kelsi Moon, Kristen Brooks, Bailey McMillan, Eternity Felder, Brooke McMillan, Shaylee Calcote, Layton Felder; great grandchild, John Moon, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dorr Elmer Brooks.
