Christopher of Main Street, Bowdoin, passed away at the Moroso Motorsports Park in Jupiter, FL as a result of injuries sustained when his jet-powered Funny Car "Firepower" flipped after completing a 268-mph run.

He was born in Teaneck, NJ, the son of Robert C. and Eileen C. Walker Gould. He attended Meriden, CT, schools. From 1972 to 1976, he served as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Brunswick.
