Jimmy Wayne Fannett
March 7, 1948 - August 18, 2021

On Wednesday, August 18th, 2021, our beloved "Big Jim" passed away at the age of 73. Jimmy was born on March 7th, 1948, in Beaumont, Texas, to Charles and Nellie Fannett.

In his seventy-three years he was a busy man, if you asked him if he was busy, he would say busier than a cut worm in a tomato patch. He was Head Maintenance for Baten Arms Elderly Facility, an Offshore Cook for SHRM, a Master-carpenter for E. R. Dupris Construction Developer and worked all over the world for Ramco and Fluor. As he retired, he spent his time restoring the home where he grew up into the house of his dreams with his wife Grace. We will remember him for his wonderful stories, his one-handed clap, hilarious jokes and laugh that could shake a building. We will carry his memory in our hearts and continue to share his jokes to make people laugh which was his favorite thing to do. Jimmy's Facebook page will remain open, and all are welcome to post memories and final words to him there.

He is survived by the love of his life, Grace; his daughter, Darla (Lloyd) Jinnah Fannett Vernon; stepdaughter, Dorothy (Aaron) Steinblock; stepson, Guy Spell; granddaughters, Ashley (Malcolm) Janise, Tiffanie (Gregory) Zellmer, Scarlet Spell, and Summer Rose Spell; grandsons, Horace Allen Theal, Jordan Spell, and Andrew Steinblock; and great-grandchildren, Krislynn Ann Hollingsworth, Trayvin Allen Janise, Noah Ray Janise, Bryston Allen Theal, Kayson Domingo Theal, and Audriana Zellmer.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Joe Fannett.

Jimmy didn't want a funeral, but a Celebration of Life with stories, jokes, and laughs will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m, Saturday, August 28th, 2021, at The Oaks Event Center, 2110 South Main Street, Vidor, Texas 77662.
