South Haven – Vella O. Austin, 75, of South Haven, died Sunday at Countryside Nursing Home, South Haven.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Calvin-Starks and Frost Funeral Home, South Haven, where friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, South Haven, of which she was a member.
Ms. Austin was born Aug. 9, 1914, in South Haven. She retired in 1980 after teaching school for 41 years with 31 of those with the South Haven Schools.
She is survived by a niece, Vernadeane Coffman of Union City, Mich.
