Hope Elaine Banks, was born April 22, 1971 to the late Henry Banks, Sr. and Dorothy Garrett Banks at Grimes Memorial Hospital in Navasota, Grimes County, Texas.

She received her formal education from Navasota ISD, graduating with the class of '89. She later attended Paul Quinn College in South Dallas, Texas.

Hope accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.W. Whitfield. She served in the Youth Choir Dept., as the Praise Dance Team Director, and in any other position she was asked to serve. She also served on the Food Committee. She was always willing to help in the church, especially with the youth.

Hope worked with Navasota ISD for fifteen years and later with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for five years until her health wouldn't allow her to do it any longer. She then opened her own daycare, Tender Loving Care, and took care of her babies until her health failed her.
