"Memorial services for Mrs. Kay Francis Houston, 94, of Marshall, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004 at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Webb officiating. Local arrangements are by Peoples Funeral Home of Marshall.
Mrs. Houston died after a long illness on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Grove Garden Care Center. She was born September 15, 1909, in Marshall, to Ethel Fort Campbell and Robert Campbell, one of four siblings which include Dock B. Campbell, Henry Campbell and Aples Campbell.
She attended Harrison County schools and Bishop College, and she worked as a cosmetologist. She married the Rev. Harrison Houston. Mrs. Houston was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. She was affiliated with the Ministers' Wives Auxiliary and she was active visiting the sick and shut-ins.
She is survived by her cousins, Mrs. Charles W. Wilson and Mrs. Olivia Fort Thomas, both of Marshall, and Louis Henry Fort, of San Francisco, California; and other relatives."
