James was born the son of the late Vern & Vivian (Gasper) Gerow and has resided in the Flint area most of his life. James enjoyed the outdoors and was a lifetime member of the Snowshoe Hunting Camp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and kind enough to drag all his boys on excursions no matter how disruptive they were to the mission. He was Scout Leader for the Flushing Boy Scout Troop, Coached Football and Baseball. He enjoyed traveling, camping with his wife and woodcarving. James loved music and was a member of the Flint Banjo Club for many years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a graduate of GMI and employed by General Motors AC-Delco Division for over thirty-four years retiring in 1994. Later in his years, he was the master of one-liners. Even with his full on Alzheimer's he still managed to pick them out of thin air and double you over gasping for your next breath.
