Mrs. Marcella Gerrard Allen, 63, of rural Rose, member of a famous Nebraska pioneer family, died Friday in the Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Mrs. Allen, widow of Eber, lived in Lincoln from 1926 to 1955, when she accepted a position with the Information Service of the Air Force Finance Center in Denver.
The only woman to serve as interim secretary-manager of the National Reclamation Association in Washington, she had been Lincoln city and Nebraska state president of the League of Women Voters.
Mrs. Allen had been the first executive secretary of the Nebraska Reclamation Association and had also been on the board of Goodwill Industries.
She began her career with the association by doing research for the Water Diversion Committee of the Legislative Council and later became an information specialist with the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver.
A member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Denver, Mrs. Allen is survived by a son, Edward Gerrard of Oroville, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Burt (Becky) Whedon of Omaha, a sister and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Roeder's Funeral Home, 4932 Ames, Omaha, at 11 a.m. Monday. Graveside services and burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
