The mortality of the City of Marysville ending in the month of 12-31-1867, appearing in the Marysville Daily Appeal on 1-23-1868 shows she died on 6-25-1867 and was 3 years and 2 months old.
Lizzie's parents were William Noah Granger, born in Vermont and Matilda Betsey Paine, born in Vermont
Researching through the Marysville Daily Appeal Newspapers on the California Digital Newspaper I discovered that Lizzie's father was a school teacher in Marysville during the 1860's. After the death of Lizzie's mother in 1868 the family moved as in the 1870 Yuba Township, Sutter County census it shows William is now a farmer and appears to have re-married with a wife named Maggie , Archives shows she was Margaret Vandoran born in Iowa. Also listed was a daughter named Dollie at age 4 who would have been just a toddler when her mother Matilda died, and a young 6 month old son who was probably William Jr who is linked to William Sr's memorial.
