James Roy Sczech MATTHEWS - James Roy Sczech, "Jim," 66, of Matthews, passed Thursday at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center. A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 4:00PM at Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 South Trade Street, with the Rev. Dr. Ken Lyon of ciating. Jim was born May 1, 1948, in Seguin, TX, a son of Irene Ledwig Sczech and the late Robert Lee Sczech, Sr. He graduated from The University of Texas and remained a loyal and lifelong Longhorns fan. He worked in the Insurance Industry for 25 years in Dallas, TX, and after relocating to Charlotte worked in tax preparation and at Measurement Inc. until his retirement. He will be deeply missed. Jim survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn of Matthews; his mother Irene; and two brothers, Robert, Jr. and wife Janet, Galen and wife Cindy, all of Seguin, TX. In addition, one nephew, two nieces and their spouses and children, and many wonderful relatives and friends.
