Delhi - Ruth V. Berg, 81, a lifelong Delhi area resident, passed away Monday, April 12 2010, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
She was born June 14, 1928, in Delhi, the daughter of Ralph and Edna May ( Hosier) Hafele , and married Richard H. Berg, Sept. 19, 1945. He died March 13, 1997.
In earlier life, Ruth received nurse's training, provided foster care, was a cook at the former Meredith Inn and , in later years, worked at the Delhi County Store, until retirement.
A woman of many talents, Ruth enjoyed crafting, especially sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, ceramics and plastic canvas. She also enjoyed circle- word puzzles, gardening, cooking and camping. She was a member of D.W. Gleason Unit 190,American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a brother, Ralph Hafele Jr., Onalaska, Wis.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; numerous friends, especially Karen Mellott, Sissy Moore, Cheri Cornell, Jeannette DeWitt, Winnie Bryden and Billie Martini, and their families.
She was predeceased by her a brother, George ; and sister, Laura.
Friends are invited to call 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, where services will be conducted at 2p.m. by the Rev. Bert More, and burial followed in Woodland Cemetery.
