Donald F. Allen, 75 Ret. Highway Emply.
Donald F. Allen of Forestburgh, a lifelong area resident and a retired employee
of the Village of Monticello Highway Department, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005
at the Ruth Taylor Institute at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He
was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Harry and Alice Keating Allen, he was born October 2, 1929,
in Glen Wild.
Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving from
1951 to 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Hemmer Allen, at home; a son, Donald F. Allen
and his companion, Mary Driscoll of Scranton, Pa; a daughter and son-in-law,
Karri and Brad Theis of Bethel; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and
Robert Galloway of Walden and Marjorie and Richard Diffendale of Bloomingburg;
four grandchildren, Erin and Donald Allen of Liberty and Michael and Kelly Theis
of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello on
Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
Gene Smith officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will be made in the Rock Ridge Cemetery in
Monticello.
