He was born in Hamburg, Germany, December 14, 1897, the son of Teter & Anna (Tick) Boljen, and married Violet Fried, August 14, 1951, in Chicago. He was a member of Friendship Lodge NO. 7, AF & AM, Freeport Consistory and First Christian Church.
Survivors include his widow; a step-son, George Hartwig, Dixon; two sisters, Mrs. Olga Boljen and Mrs Annie Rosch, both of Hamburg Germany; a brother Rudolph, New York City.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Sheppard, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating, with a Masonic Service following. The body will be cremated. There will be no visitation.
