September 22, 2018 Anita Guenther passed away on September 22, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born in Fredericksburg, TX to Max and Cecilia Kunz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Egon Guenther, and her sisters Adela Luckett, Celeta Hill, Cecilia Sheppard, and Rosemary Howard. Anita Graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1939 and completed her nurses' training at Santa Rosa School of Nursing in 1943. She served as a WWII Army Nurse and was honorably discharged as a Captain. She continued her nursing career until she met and married her husband Egon Guenther. Anita traveled extensively with her family and friends. She loved a good joke and celebrating happy occasions. Anita is survived by Theresa Guenther and Charlie Mayer, Valerie and Jack Guenther, Patsy Warncke, Abigail and George Kampmann, Lindsay and Jack Guenther Jr., Richard Warncke, Camilla Kampmann, Elizabeth Kampmann, Jack Guenther III, Drake Guenther, and many nieces, and nephews. Memorial Mass Tuesday, October 30, 2018 10:30A.M. St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church 102 Lorenz Rd., San Antonio Anita was a participant in the UT Health San Antonio Body Donation Program. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
