Michael was a receiving clerk at McKesson Drug Company; a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School, holds the career scoring record in basketball; a member of the 1980 State Baseball Championship Team; and All-Regional football player. Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel on Monday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. Mr. Burk is survived by his mother, Frances Waters Burk and his father, Bill E. Burk; sister, Jennifer Royds of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brothers, Gary E. Burk of Bella Vista, AR and Randy A. Burk of Memphis, TN; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Cody. The family asks memorials be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
