Ron served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years before entering studies at Wagner College, on Staten Island, NY, where he received a B.S. degree in mathematics and physics. After the Coast Guard and other short-term positions he began his career at what is now known as Verizon Communications, with a wide variety of management roles in Engineering and Information Technology. He retired from Verizon in 1992.

Ron accepted Christ as Savior at an early age, and for the remainder of his life, Jesus was his Rock and Compass. His greatest legacy is that of setting a Christian example to his family and friends. He was inspired to write 11 gospel songs that spoke of his faith and dedication to the Lord. He sang in the "El-Bethel Quartet" together with his brother Allen, and Olsen brothers, Arnold and Clifford. In addition to his music, Ron enjoyed attending church services, reading, golf, skiing, boating and spending time with family & friends. He was also known for his quick wit and sense of humor. In retirement, Ron and Nellie would spend their summers at their cabin in the Adirondack Mountains.

Ron was born in Staten Island, NY and later moved to Rockland County, NY where he and his wife Nellie lived for 42 years before moving to Lancaster, South Carolina in 2015. For the last two years, Ron lived at the Promenade, assisted living, in Tuxedo, NY. We look forward to seeing him again in Heaven one day.
