Ford- Maurita M. Johnson, 89, died Friday, August 13, 2021 in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born October 10, 1931 in Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Edward Herman and Esther Charlotte (Ley) Weiss. She graduated from Dodge City High School in 1950. She was a homemaker and had worked in public school food service.
Maurita had lived in Dodge City, KS., Ft. Collins, CO., Seattle, WA., New Orleans, Louisiana, Rockford, IL., Houston, TX., and Ford, KS.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Offerle, KS..
On June 15, 1950 she married George Fowler, Jr. He preceded her in death.
On March 3, 1964 she married Tom Johnson in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Matthew (Dianna) Johnson and Anthony Thomas Johnson all of Houston, TX.; two daughters, Fae Rita Wardle of Kinsley, KS. and Michelle Fowler of Ford, KS.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a sister, Norma Holtfrerich of Austin, TX.
Maurita was also preceded in death by a sister, Leona Anderson.
Funeral services and celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Zion Lutheran Church of Offerle, KS. with Rev. Stanley Palmer officiating.
