She was born December 16, 1934 at Brandywine, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Loy E. Hively and Estella (Sibert) Hively.
A 1952 graduate of Franklin High School, she had worked for Dr. R. H. Boggs, the Hanover Shoe Company Cafeteria, and was the director of the Pendleton Committee on Aging. Her pastimes including volunteering at Pendleton Manor, visiting those in need, playing the piano and working word puzzles. She was a member of the Franklin Church of God and the Gideons International Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Charles O. Linaburg, Sr. (1930 – 1972) whom she married March 10, 1953 and her second husband, Earl L. Sponaugle (1925 – 2005) whom she married October 23, 1987. An infant son, Charles O. Linaburg, Jr. (1954 – 1955), four brothers, Norman, Tilman, Luther and Earl Hively and two sisters, Louise Snyder and Elaine Athey also predeceased her.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM Monday, August 16 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with her sons, Pastor Jay Linaburg and Rick Linaburg officiating.
Interment will be at St. John Cemetery at Moyers. Her eight grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International for Bibles.
