Eugene Milton Allen was born May 8, 1933 in Canton, Georgia to Harley & Myrtle Allen. He went to his heavenly home on August 12, 2021 in Conyers, Georgia at the age of 88.



Eugene attended Bass High School. In August 1952, Eugene was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country in Korea. Upon his return from Korea in 1955, Eugene worked for Georgia Highway Express (Transus). After retirement in 2000, he worked and volunteered at the food ministry of Solid Rock Baptist Church for 20 years.



A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Eugene was an active member and served as a deacon at several churches including: Glenwood Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, Eastwood Baptist Church in Conyers, and Solid Rock Baptist Church in Covington.



Eugene is preceded in death by his parents Harley and Myrtle Allen, his son Tim Allen, and his brother Elbert Allen.



Eugene loved and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Winnie Pair Allen, his son Phillip & Mandy Allen, daughter Laurah & David Hensley, and grandsons Ryan and Garrett Hensley. He also loved and is survived by an extended family including brother-in-law Doyle & Joann Pair and numerous nieces & nephews.



A memorial service celebrating the life of Eugene Allen will be led by Rev. Mike Franklin at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Covington at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 21. The family will be at the church at Noon and will also greet guests following the service. (Masks are encouraged.) Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Willing Helpers Food Ministry ℅ Solid Rock Baptist Church, 8111 Brown Bridge Road, Covington GA 30014.
