The former Martha Beneke was born March 6, 1897, in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Maersch Beneke. She attended Lincoln elementary school.
On November 24, 1928, she married Arthur H. Bord Sr. in Sheboygan. The couple resided on Wilgus Ave. for many years. Mr. Bord preceded her in death on September 30, 1990.
Martha was employed at the J. Bensman Food Store on Michigan Ave. for 24 years, until her retirement in 1962. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Bord, a granddaughter, Diane (James) Hasenstein, two grandsons, Mark (Margo) Bord and Scott Bord, all of Sheboygan, two step-greatgrandchildren, Lisa Hasenstein of Ingleside, III. and James Hasenstein Jr. of Sheboygan.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Bord Jr., three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Rev. H. William Jordan, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place in the Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Thursday morning, from 9 a.m., until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
