Mr. Andrist, 98, of Kasson, died of natural causes Thursday (Nov. 22, 2007) at Prairie Meadows Senior Living in Kasson.
He was born March 28, 1909, in Mantorville Township, Dodge County. He grew up in the Mantorville area and graduated from high school there. He married Elnor Johnson on April 22, 1939, in Lanesboro. The couple lived in Preston until 1944, then in Bremerton, Wash., until 1949. From 1951 to 1995, they resided in Mantorville, then moved to Kasson. Mr. Andrist was a salesman for Watkins Products for more than 50 years. He was a member of First Congregational Church, as well as the Mantorville Senior Citizens, and was a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Sjoquist of Goodhue, Colleen (James) Maxson and Mary Sue (Bruce) Sandeno, both of Mantorville; five sons, Gary of Mesa, Ariz., Bill (Frances) of Stewartville, Robert (Linda) of Kasson, Lonnie of St. Paul and Dennis (Nancy) of Shakopee, Minn.; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Buegler of Pine Island. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997, and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dibble Funeral Home in Kasson. There will be no reviewal.
Memorials are preferred to the First Congregational Church in Mantorville.
